Amazon Might Announce Two 7-Inch Kindle Fires Today

There are analysts who believe this could hurt Amazon instead of helping it. Harry Wang of Parks Associates said in an interview with VentureBeat that Amazon’s perceived strategy of catering to the low-end market “(creates) the impression that (the Kindle Fire) is a piece of cheap hardware. It doesn’t give you all you want and it cannot be put on par with the iPad experience.” Still, Amazon appears to be sticking to its guns – the original Kindle Fire and the Nexus 7 are, after all, considered successes in the tablet market despite their lack of must-have specs. We shall find out later in the day whether Amazon will indeed be remaining committed to simple, affordable tablets or whether it will also be launching a 10-inch iPad alternative after all.
