Cognitive Networks To Discuss The Evolution Of The Smart TV At CONNECTIONS™ Summit at CES

The “Evolution of the Smart TV” panel will be moderated by Barbara Kraus, director of research from Parks Associates. Panel participants include:

In the recent whitepaper “Smart TV Unleased: Engagement Through Cognition” from Parks Associates and Cognitive Networks, it was revealed that approximately 31 million households, accounting for 26 percent of total TV households, own a Smart TV and almost two-thirds of those owners connect their Smart TVs to the Internet. Household ownership rates will rise to 64 percent of all TV households by 2018.

“The penetration of Smart TVs has increased consistently in the U.S. since they were first introduced in 2007, said Barbara Kraus, Director, Research, Parks Associates “As the penetration increases, Smart TVs are developing platforms for content discovery and looking at new revenue streams through advertising and content placement.”
