Girls, is your gadget a girl too?

Market research by the international firm Parks Associates reveals that women out-buy men in every tech category except flat-screen TVs. And yet, companies feel a searing urge to pink-ify every tech item and make it manicure-friendly, even when a 2007 survey by the advertising firm Saatchi & Saatchi had established long ago that 91% women want less pink, more tech. The US Consumer Electronics Association also revealed that women, as do men, prioritize price, warranties and product functionality in their electronics - colour is near the bottom of the list.
