Google+ May Add Games to Lure Users
In addition to building the site's user base, games may also bring Google a great deal of revenue. The U.S. market for social games reached $1 billion year and could reach $5 billion by 2015, according to Pietro Macchiarella, a game analyst with market researcher Parks Associates. Facebook charges game developers a 30 percent fee for all virtual goods sold through their games. Google+ may undercut Facebook and charge a 20 percent fee, according to recent speculation, which may attract more game developers and help Google+ attract more users with a wider variety of app-based games.
