Home Intelligence Briefing
Parks Associates of Dallas has released a study showing that information appliances will outship PCs in 2001. The firm's research suggests that 22 million in-home information appliances (excluding Internet-enabled mobile phones and telematics systems) will ship in the United States compared to 18 million home PCs.
Parks' report, "Information Appliances and Pervasive Net Access," includes information on what is driving growth in the information appliance industry, major product categories, the key players, networks that deliver Internet content, hardware/software technologies related to information appliances and market forecasts through the year 2005.
