Home security market getting crowded
Eastlink offers a base version of its home security system for $35.95 a month for customers with at least one Eastlink service in their home.
Sheriff declined to indicate the revenue potential of Bell Aliant’s new home security system.
“We’re not talking about the specific revenue amount. This product will not be as ubiquitous as something like plain old broadband, but it will be big enough to make it very interesting for us.”
According to a Parks Associates industry report, roughly 18 million to 20 million United States households will adopt one of the available Internet-based home security and automation services by 2020.
