In the race for speed, no 4G network yet tops list

That accounted for 38 percent of the company's wireless service revenue. Nearly 50 percent of U.S. cellphone users pay for mobile Internet access, according to Parks Associates.

The Dallas-based research firm says global mobile data revenue, which includes Internet, text messaging and other non-voice services, will hit $500 billion in 2015, up from $204 billion in 2010.
