iYogi to Present "A Survival Guide for the Post-PC World" at CONNECTIONS(TM): The Premier Connected Home Conference & Showcase

iYogi announced today that Larry Gordon, President, Global Channels, iYogi, will be participating as a speaker at the upcoming CONNECTIONS(TM) Conference, co-located at CTIA, May 20-May 23 in Las Vegas. Larry Gordon will participate in the session "Extending the Customer Relationship through Tech Support," on Wednesday, May 22 at 11:15 PT. Gordon will release a whitepaper on how to respond to the rapid adoption of new form factors and user applications. A request for a download of the whitepaper titled "A Survival Guide for the Post-PC World" can be made at http://www.digitalservicecloud.com/request-white-paper.html.

The interactive panel session, moderated by Patrice Samuels, Research Analyst, Parks Associates, examines how the expansion of tech support business models creates opportunities for service providers, CE manufacturers, and retailers to build long-term relationships with consumers.

"Parks Associates research finds that global unit sales of connected CE, including smart TVs, connected Blu-ray players, connected game consoles, media tablets, and digital video media receivers, will grow from approximately 247 million in 2012 to nearly 734 million by 2017."

"A post PC world is driven by the rapid proliferation of new form factors, thereby reducing PC's dominance as a computing device. This is also driving widespread commoditization of technologies such as tablets and smartphones," said Larry Gordon, President, Global Channels, iYogi. "While commoditization has benefited customers with standardization of devices and reduced price-points, the unfortunate consequence has been the reduced scope and service levels for support. In this post PC world service-side commoditization of tech support is the only counterbalance."

CONNECTIONS(TM), hosted by research firm Parks Associates, focuses on emerging technologies, monetization strategies, and content distribution for connected CE and connected home services. The executive conference includes keynotes from AT&T, Starz, and Samsung and sessions featuring executives focused on emerging technologies, products, and services for the connected home and mobile industry. CONNECTIONS(TM) also features the Connected Home Pavilion on the CTIA show floor, with demos from solution providers for the digital home.

"Connected home devices and value-added services continue to be a source of added revenue for companies, including security, health, monitoring, and controls," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "CONNECTIONS(TM) addresses all aspects of the connected home, providing a comprehensive outlook and assessment of the market as well as strategic recommendations to enhance and expand consumer engagement."
