MasterCard certifies several Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone devices for PayPass

Close to 50 percent of U.S. smartphone owners express strong interest in Near Field Communications-enabled mobile wallet applications, according to a survey conducted late last year by market research and consulting firm Parks Associates.
