No definite date yet for AT&T’s Digital Life launch in Dallas
I talked to AT&T’s Kevin Petersen today before his Digital Life presentation at the Connections conference at the Gaylord Texan and asked if the company had a definite date yet for the launch of its home security and automation system in Dallas.
Previously, AT&T had said that Dallas and Atlanta will be the first markets, and that both would launch sometime this year.
“Trials will be later this year,” said Petersen, a senior vice president of the Digital Life group, which is based in Atlanta. “Dallas will be the first place.”
During his presentation, Petersen reinforced that AT&T sees big opportunity in the field, currently dominated by ADT North America Residential. ADT says it has about 25 percent of the $12.5-billion-a year revenue market.
Connections is running in conjunction with the 3-day Telecommunications Industry Association conference at the Gaylord.
