Parks: TV Everywhere taking hold
About 81 percent of North American pay TV subscribers will have access to some form of TV Everywhere capability by the middle of this year, according to a new report from Parks Associates. TV Everywhere services, though becoming widely available as Parks points out, have added new content at a very gradual pace.
Still, Parks found in its latest research that the concept has strong consumer appeal. In particular, almost 40 percent of U.S. broadband consumers between the ages of 18 and 34 find such services to be “very appealing,” Parks said. Parks said TV Everywhere services are less available overseas. In Western Europe, for example, about 40 percent of subscribers have access, while in Eastern Europe, the figure is only 12 percent.
