Parks Associates predicts residential energy management to exceed $1B by 2015

Lighting controls, programmable thermostats, and self-monitoring systems will each exceed $1 billion in U.S. revenues by 2015, according to "Residential Energy Management 2011: Trends and Opportunities" from Parks Associates. By 2015, 13 percent of U.S. households will have some type of energy management network.

"Market movers such as ADT, Best Buy, Comcast, IBM, Ingersoll Rand and Verizon have solutions on the market now," said Bill Ablondi, Director of Home Systems Research for Parks Associates said in an interview. "Utility executives that leverage these solutions will position their organizations for the future. Those that don't will watch their successors do so."
