Parks Associates to Co-Locate CONNECTIONS™ Connected Home Conference with CTIA WIRELESS 2013

Parks Associates today announced the 17th annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference will be co-located with International CTIA WIRELESS 2013, May 21-23, 2013, in Las Vegas. The international research firm reports 83% of U.S. broadband households will have a data network in 2013, while 94% of U.S. mobile subscribers will have mobile broadband service. The combination of high-speed services with connected CE in the home is creating revenue opportunities for industry players in content distribution, advertising, cloud and second-screen services, remote management and home controls, and app development.

"Almost every consumer experience now has a mobile component, from video viewing to controlling home systems," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "The future of the connected home is, in large part, mobile, and the co-location of CTIA WIRELESS and CONNECTIONS™ offers a unique opportunity to analyze the growing role of mobile solutions in the connected home. Our CONNECTIONS™ audience will benefit greatly from this partnership, and we look forward to working with CTIA."

"Consumers are increasingly turning to wireless services and technologies for entertainment and home and lifestyle management," said Rob Mesirow, VP of Operations, CTIA – The Wireless Association. "We first showcased this trend in 2005 with a 10,000 square foot Wireless Home at CTIA WIRELESS! Now a partnership with CONNECTIONS™ continues to bring added value to attendees and sponsors of both events, and we look forward to seeing the next generation of connected solutions at the Connected Home Pavilion."

CONNECTIONS™, with early sponsorship support from Qualcomm, Lowe's, and Sutherland Global Services, features research presentations, keynotes, and interactive sessions focused on the emerging technologies, marketing strategies, and business models for the connected home. The conference specifically focuses on consumer trends, market analysis, and strategic insight from industry players on the following topics:

  • Monetization strategies for broadband, entertainment, and cloud services
  • Adoption and usage of connected CE platforms
  • Impact of alternative video platforms, OTT, and advanced VOD
  • Development of interactive second-screen features and services and implications for apps and advertising
  • Business models and strategies for mobile platforms, applications, and emerging services
  • Innovations in digital content discovery and delivery
  • Connected home devices and value-added services - security, health, monitoring, and controls
  • Consumer adoption, usage, and expectations regarding mobile, remote, and in-home tech support
  • Partnerships and competition among broadband, mobile, and security service providers, utilities, manufacturers, and retailers

Parks Associates will also host the Connected Home Pavilion on the International CTIA WIRELESS 2013 show floor, spotlighting service providers, device manufacturers, and advanced technology companies working on solutions for the connected consumer.
