Roku & Chromecast Dominant Players For Streaming Devices

Back in 2007, Apple came out with their first Apple TV settop box. It wasn’t until six years later that Google came out with Chromecast. On it’s surface, one would think that Apple TV would have a larger number of units sold per year because of the jump start that they have had, but that isn’t the case.

In fact, the latest report put out by Parks Associates indicates that it is in fact Google that has sold more devices then Apple. Since 2013, Google has sold 3.8 million devices. For the sake of perspective, Apple TV has seen sales of roughly 2 million units this past year.
