Smart home worth high-billions, more by 2020

Parks sees energy management among top sellers: In a recent poll conducted among US consumers by Dallas-based research firm and consultancy Parks Associates, 12% of respondents said they plan to buy a home-automation device within the next year. "Fully 78% of US households now have access to broadband, which enables the smart home by its ability to transport multiple signals and traffic types across a single channel," Park Associates Research Assistant Patrice Samuels said during a webcast about the research, in response to a question from Smart Grid Today.
