VoiceStream to Launch GSM service in Dallas: company plans to spend millions to roll out its wireless technology
Once that deal is wrapped up, VoiceStream will offer service in 15 of the top 25 markets nationwide and have over 1 million subscriber.
Once it does decide to build out its Dallas network, the company will face heavy investments of time and money. Hongjun Li, director of research and telecom analyst at Parks Associates, says wireless phone companies spent in 1998 an average of $308 annually or $25.67 a month, to acquire each new subscriber a, and $348 a year or $29 a month to provide service to them.
