Web Surfers Want Safety
High-speed Internet users want service providers to help them secure their home computers, says a new study.
According to a 10,800-household survey and analysis by broadband research firms Parks Associates and TeleChoice, the hassles associated with installing, configuring and maintaining anti-virus, firewall and parental control products keep many residential end-users from purchasing, or properly using, these products.
In fact, most would prefer to purchase online security protections as a suite of services, deployed from within the broadband provider's network rather than their own PC hard drive.
