Apple TV Sees Impressive Sales Growth in 2015

Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) fourth-gen Apple TV unit sales grew 50% year-over-year (YoY) in 2015, MacRumors reports, citing data shared by Parks Associates. The full-blown OS and Siri integration helped lift sales of Apple TV during the year.

Sprint Has Teamed Up With Amazon To Allow Subscribers A Chance to Sign Up For Amazon Prime On A Monthly Subscription

According to Parks Associates, 68% of smartphone subscribers stream music daily, 71% of them watch short clips of video, and 40% stream TV shows and movies. Given that 73% of Sprint customers use their phones to listen to music daily, this promotion seems to be quite well targeted.

Apple iPhone Still America’s Favorite; Samsung Lags Slightly Behind

According to Parks Associates, Samsung follows Apple with a 31% US smartphone market share and is the most popular Android original equipment manufacturer (OEM). LG is on the third position, with a 10% market share. Other OEMs such as Taiwan’s HTC and Motorola have a contribution of 5% and 4%, respectively, in the US smartphone sales. According to MacRumors, Parks Associates has revealed figures from a recent research that depict Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) TV was the fourth most popular device for streaming in the US last year.
