25% of U.S. homes to be streaming media via TVs by 2015

In the first nine months of 2014 alone, 10% of American households with a broadband connection snapped up a set-top box or a media streaming stick -- that's equal to total sales of the devices in 2013.

Security, peace of mind driving Internet of Things

According to a new report from Parks Associates based on a study of 10,000 US homes with a broadband internet connection, it's security and peace of mind that is driving initial interest in America. Nearly two thirds (64%) of all smart devices currently installed in households in the country operate as part of a security or home controls system.

Immersive viewing: Second screen content hitting the spot

As more and more TV shows and broadcasters create supporting apps, in the U.S. at least the second-screen phenomenon is starting to become mainstream viewing behaviour, especially among younger digital native viewers.
