Mobile Wallet Usage to Increase to Over 40% of USA Smartphone Users by 2017

Over 40 million U.S. consumers, or 20% of all smartphone users, used at least one mobile proximity or mobile e-commerce wallet in 2013, and usage will increase to nearly 113 million, or 43% of all smartphone users, by 2017, according to Parks Associates.

60% of CE Holiday Shoppers Plan to Purchase at Least One Device on Black Friday

Around 60% of USA consumer electronics buyers plan to purchase at least one device this Black Friday, but the 4Q 2013 survey of U.S. broadband households also shows many consumers started their holiday CE shopping before this week.

Seventy-one percent of holiday shoppers have already started shopping for products.

Over 50% of Apple and Google Users Satisfied With Voice-Recognition Features

The majority of both Apple iPhone Siri users and Google Now users are "very" satisfied with the voice control and recognition technologies, according to a survey by Parks Associates. ­Specifically, 55% of Apple Siri users and 50% of Google Now users are "very" satisfied with the technologies.

According to Parks Associates, instances of mobile activities while watching TV increases significantly among Millennials, where consumers 18-34 are 70% more likely than other age groups to look up TV listings via a mobile device.

Tablets Overtaking Laptops As Hottest Item This Christmas

U.S. consumers plan to spend over 33% more on CE devices this holiday season compared to last year, with the total amount increasing from $793 per household in 2011 to $1,058 in 2012.

A survey of 2,500 U.S. broadband households by Parks Associates, found 63% of households plan to make a CE purchase, a 37% increase over last year. Tablets and smartphones are the hottest items, and consumers express the greatest preferences for the Apple iPad and iPhone.
