Study: Carriers overcharging on actual data consumption

Despite their growing use by carriers, usage-based data plans have not won over all mobile customers. A recent consumer survey conducted by Parks Associates revealed that 31 percent of AT&T subscribers, 30 percent of Verizon subscribers and 35 percent of T-Mobile USA subscribers say they prefer unlimited data plans, while 44 percent of Sprint Nextel subscribers selected that option.

Verizon's data sharing plans breed confusion, cost concerns

Shared data plans may be too early to market, as many consumers are scratching their heads over the plans' fees and most leading U.S. carriers' subscribers still prefer unlimited data, according to fresh research from Parks Associates.

Verizon commercial hammers rivals' LTE footprints

A recent study by Parks Associates revealed that nearly 50 percent of U.S. smartphone users consider 4G/LTE access "very important" when choosing a mobile service provider.

"Operators such as AT&T and Verizon are building consumer awareness around 4G/LTE by touting the benefits of the technology.
