Comcast’s Peacock is now streaming on Roku devices after months of negotiations

Although the Peacock app was on Apple, Android, and Microsoft devices at launch, it wasn’t carried by Roku, which controlled 39% of the streaming device market as of last year, according to Parks Associates, a Texas market researcher. The big sticking point between Comcast and Roku was reportedly ad inventory. Roku typically takes 30% of available ad space from its partners.

Providers Fine-tune Their Business Models As A La Carte Streaming Services Proliferate

Those who prefer streaming video-on-demand aren’t shy about sharing passwords. About 6 percent of U.S. broadband households use an over-the-top video service paid by someone living outside of the household, according to a 2015 report from the research firm Parks Associates.

Your smart-home devices might be smart, but are they secure?

“As we purchase more smart devices, they increase the number of entry points an intruder could exploit. ... Research is key to purchases in new technology

Once content is created, consumers — many of whom jumped on the HD bandwagon only a few years ago — will have to upgrade cable boxes and possibly streaming plans.
