130% growth in US broadband households that subscribe to two or more OTT services: Parks Associates

Parks Associates research finds that the percentage of households with multiple OTT subscriptions has increased by 130% since 2014. In 2019, forty-six percent of US broadband households subscribe to two or more OTT services. More than 50% US broadband households subscribe to both pay-TV, OTT video service

New consumer research from Parks Associates shows that 53 percent of US broadband households subscribe to both a pay-TV service and at least one OTT video service.

According to the ‘OTT Video & TV Everywhere: Partners, Alternatives, and Competition’ report, more than 200 OTT video services are active in the US market as of the third quarter of 2017, with more than 100 active in the Canadian market. 19% Of US Broadband Households Cancelled An OTT Video Service In 12 Months

Parks Associates has announced that the churn rate for OTT video services is 19% of US broadband households, indicating roughly one in five households have cancelled an OTT service in the past 12 months. Nearly 80% Of US Spanish-Language Households Subscribe To OTT Video Services

“While pay-TV penetration has declined among US broadband households, adoption has remained steady among Spanish-bilingual households over the past few years. TV Everywhere Reaches 40% Of US Pay-TV Consumers

MUMBAI: Usage of authenticated video viewing, or TV Everywhere, reached 40% of US pay-TV consumers in 2015, up from 22% in 2013, according to new research from Parks Associates.

The percentage of respondents watching authenticated video at least once a month is 23%, which both broadens and deepens the online video audience for pay-TV providers.
