Hulu Mounts Push To Draw And Keep Subscribers: Executive

Luring and keeping customers is becoming harder as the online streaming market gets more crowded and subscribers, freed from cable television's contract model, can cancel service with a click of the mouse.

The company, which plans to roll out the new live TV bundle of broadcast and cable network channels early next year, has one of the industry's highest customer defection rates at 50%, according to research firm Parks Associates.

Is The End Of The Games Console Nigh?

The majority of US and European homes currently have a PlayStation or Xbox nestling under the television but according to Parks Associates, fewer than 50% of US homes will still have one by 2019.

Netflix Need Not Fear New Amazon Prime Spinoff Service

The popularity of Over The Top (OTT) video is growing fast particularly in France and the UK.

According to new data released by Parks Associates on March 29, over half of UK and French (55% and 51%, respectively) broadband Internet households are now turning to online channels for their TV and video fix.

Over Two Thirds Of Smartphone Owners Are Music Streamers

According to new Parks Associates research, when it comes to digital relaxation, listening to music via a smartphone tops all other entertainment uses.

In the US, where the research was conducted, 68% of smartphone owners now listen to music everyday via a streaming service. In term of numbers, watching short video clips (71%) is more popular, but at an average of 45 minutes a day, no other smartphone-based entertainment takes up as much time.

According to the latest Parks Associates research, nearly two-thirds of US drivers want connected car functionality as standard on their next new ride and 25% of consumers are already intrigued by the possibilities of using their car as a way of remotely controlling home functions.
