Parks Associates is excited to feature insights from a speaker from our upcoming Smart Energy Summit, Dr. Matthieu Loos. Dr Loos is the Director of Decarbonization for Hoa Cleantech and has nine years of consulting and project management experience across North America and Europe in the electric vehicle infrastructure deployment and operations.

Dr. Loos will be speaking in the panel, Building the Fast Charging Infrastructure: Speeding up EV Adoption, on Tuesday, February 18th, at 3:00 pm. In this panel, speakers share the experience of the synergies between the creation of a regional fast-charging infrastructure and the impact on the local adoption of electric vehicles. How is the adoption of distributed energy and electric vehicle ownership impacting the grid?
Electric Vehicles do not pose much of a problem on the generation or transmission system but will likely have a big impact in some areas of the distribution system. The lower the voltage, the higher the chances of EV clustering which are more likely to create significant peak power demand in localized area. Understanding EV owners’ behaviors and how they evolve is critical to adopt the right measures for limiting the impact.
