Ericsson and Sky Deutschland to Keynote CONNECTIONS™ Europe: Monetizing Strategies for the Connected Home

Deutsche Telekom and Icontrol Networks to address new opportunities in the Internet of Things

European connected consumers value ease-of-use the most when selecting their favorite among the connected CE they own, according to Parks Associates. The international research firm will host CONNECTIONS™ Europe: Monetizing Strategies for the Connected Home, 18-19 November in Amsterdam. Keynote speakers from Ericsson and Sky Deutschland will address connected cars and pay-TV strategies, and Deutsche Telekom  and Icontrol Networks will discuss new smart home and Internet of Things solutions during a special fireside chat session.

"On average 50% of U.K., Spanish, and German broadband households with multiple connected CE select their preferred device to use based on ease-of-use, trumping content availability and device features," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "CONNECTIONS™ Europe features invaluable insights in translating consumer demand for simplicity and functionality into successful and profitable market strategies."

The ninth-annual CONNECTIONS™ Europe focuses on entertainment and smart home solutions for the connected consumer.

"There will not be one overall driver for the connected consumer, but rather multiple, which will be based on the different needs of the diverse segments and will vary by region and by socio demographics," said Jon Carter, UK Head of Business Development – Connected Home, Deutsche Telekom AG. "At a holistic level, we see the principle drivers being a desire by consumers to make their lives simpler and easier, to enable them to save money, whether that be in terms of energy or insurance, and to gain greater security and peace-of-mind."
