Channel distribution and partner programs a key focus of Smart Energy Summit

Conference features speakers from Best Buy, Lowe's, PG&E, GE, Duke, Direct Energy, IBM, Reliant, Telecom Italia, Tendril, and more

International research firm Parks Associates today announced the agenda and speakers for Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer, February 28-March 1, Austin, Texas. The event features the Parks Associates analyst team and more than 40 executives addressing new energy management solutions, distribution channels, and partnership opportunities emerging among broadband service providers, utilities, OEMs, security providers, and retailers.

Smart Energy Summit also features analysis of the latest announcements in this market area, including the impact of the new products and partnerships announced at DistribuTECH this week by companies including Opower, IBM, Itron, and Honeywell.

"One-third of U.S. broadband households find energy monitoring highly appealing, but 39% are unaware of energy programs offered by utilities, highlighting a significant gap in consumer engagement," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “With the variety of new players, often with overlapping goals, entering the market, it creates new partnership opportunities that can move solutions quickly to market and re-capture the initial enthusiasm. The combined marketing efforts of broadband providers, security service firms, and utilities will increase consumer awareness of energy management services, driving growth beyond early adopters.”
