Parks Associates: 42% of consumers 50 and older are very interested in home systems that sense emergencies

Research from Parks Associates shows 42% of consumers 50 and older in U.S. broadband households are very interested in using a home system that can sense an emergency and alert the necessary people if it allows them to continue living independently. The IoT research firm will explore new use cases for healthcare emerging from smart home, AI, and machine learning innovations at its fifth-annual Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers, August 28-30 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.

 

 Interest in Independent Living Products or Services Among Consumers 50 and Up 

“Connected health and wellness features have established a prominent role on multiple IoT platforms, including the smartphone, the smart watch, and wearables,” said Dina Abdelrazik, Research Analyst, Parks Associates. “Many independent living solutions have strong crossover opportunities with the smart home; stakeholders from both connected heath and the smart home are exploring ways to support new home-based health applications and use cases.”
