Shifting Builder Perspectives on Home Security

Security systems have enjoyed a de facto status in new home construction, but several major builders have chosen to forsake them for a bundle of standalone smart home devices with strong consumer appeal. This report draws on data from Parks Associates' 2019 Home Builder Survey as it explores the shifting alignment of security services with the smart home strategies of home builders, which represent new expectations for technologies deployed, user experiences supported, and onboarding of home buyers.
