Spanish Viewers Prefer Online Video To Pay TV: Study

“First-time adoption of pay TV is up among Spanish broadband households as is the penetration of pay TV overall. The Spanish pay-TV market in general has a very active, cost-conscious base of subscribers, with higher-than-average rates of downgrades and upgrades and a substantial population of cord nevers,” said Parks Associates director research Brett Sappington.

How Smartphone Users Consume Video Content In The US

Parks Associates’ survey, ‘360 View: Mobility And the App Economy’, shows consumers are embracing many new use cases as their smartphones become more intelligent and multi-functional. Voice calls and texting are still the dominant activities, but 80% of smartphone owners use social networking apps at least once a day and 35% spend an hour or more on this activity.

765 mn households worldwide will subscribe to a broadband service by the end of 2015

By the end of 2015, approximately 765 million households representing 38 per cent of the global households will be connected via a broadband service, says a research report by Parks Associates.

The international market research firm also reports that the Asia-Pacific region holds the largest percentage of worldwide broadband households primarily due to the volume in China and Japan, the world’s first and third largest broadband markets.
