According to a recent report by researcher Parks Associates, internet video subscribers have increased 12 percent in two years, despite a growing number of users sharing passwords. Revenues are expected to double to $30 billion worldwide by 2020. Netflix is still the largest provider, but others are also adding to the growth. Hardware still rules for Dish, as electronics fade at annual CES event

"Declines in wired video service are definitely not something that traditional providers are ignoring," said Glenn Hower, a research analyst with researcher Parks Associates.

Securing the Internet of Things inside your house

To smarten up your home, you can buy a light bulb that flashes when new e-mail arrives. Or a thermostat that switches to eco mode when everyone has left the house. And a nifty door lock to alert you when someone's at the door and no one is home.

Let's just hope your smart house is smarter than smart hackers.
