Apple's iPads, iPhones, Macs And TVs Are Top Holiday Picks

Parks Associates surveyed 2,500 consumers to determine what brands do they have in mind to purchase over the holiday season. Across the board Apple is the number 1 pick for tablets, smartphones, desktop and notebook computers and streaming media devices

“Apple topped the list of intended brands for desktop purchases for the first time this year,” said John Barrett, director, Consumer Analytics, Parks Associates. “In 2011 and 2012, Dell DELL NaN% was the top desktop brand, but Apple has displaced it, making Apple now the most popular brand across even more key CE categories.”

Also Apple TV is the top Streaming Media Device (27% purchase intentions) and has been for three years. Given all the buzz about Roku (21%) and Chromecast at $35 I would have thought one of them would have the top spot and Chromecast doesn’t even show up in the top 5. It could turn out that Roku captures the top spot since last year Parks Associates surveyed actual purchases and found that Roku had moved from 15% intentions to 29% of consumers actually buying it. Apple TV fell from 34% intentions to 24% buying it.
