Consumer demand will spur growth for set-top boxes
Global shipments of set-top boxes will surpass 200 million in four years, and service providers will rush to fill increasing demand for interactive and other advanced services with state-of-the-art models in order to remain competitive, according to a new report from researcher Parks Associates. The study went on to say that cable and other multichannel providers would benefit most from the trend because they offer multi-service bundles, such as TV, data and voice.
