Debunking the Myth: Home Automation
A new report by Parks Associates, www.parksassociates.com, suggests broadband providers will want a piece of the pie as consumer interest in connected-home components is on the rise. The report found significant trends that will drive the market in 2011 and beyond, including Web-based security monitoring, and remote control of lights, appliances, and thermostats via Web-enabled devices.
Could broadband service providers capitalize on, say, consumers’ interest in IP-based home-security systems? Parks Associates analysts say broadband providers are well-positioned to tap into this market due to their existing infrastructure and ongoing customer relationships.
