Netflix's $8 subscription may take business from VOD, Parks says
The Netflix subscription plan that lets customers stream movies over the Internet for $8 a month seems to be having a negative effect on pay-television services, such as HBO, and video-on-demand transactions, according to Parks Associates. The market research firm found that 16% of U.S. broadband consumers using VOD and 17% of premium-programming subscribers said they would consider Netflix as an alternative to those services.
