Parks Associates and Industry Leaders Address the Evolution of the Digital Home and Mobile Consumer at CONNECTIONS(TM) at CTIA

The executive conference features the Connected Home Pavilion on the CTIA show floor, with demos from solution providers for the digital home; keynotes from AT&T, Starz, and Samsung; and sessions featuring executives focused on emerging technologies, products, and services for the connected home and mobile industry.

Parks Associates research finds consumers are using apps as key points of entry for the entertainment and management systems in the connected home. Smartphone ownership has reached 60% of U.S. broadband households, and 18% of smartphone owners and 39% of tablet owners use apps from their pay-TV providers. One-third of consumers express interest in new cloud service features that further complement pay-TV apps and services.

"CONNECTIONS™ addresses another significant development in the connected home -- the entrance of telcos and cablecos as providers of home controls systems," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "The integration of apps into the connected home ecosystem and mobile environments is creating new appeal for home control systems. The leaders speaking at CONNECTIONS™ offer invaluable insight into the new business models and strategies emerging from changes in the connected home."
