A mandatory step in this process is the implementation of strong security and privacy measures, without which the adoption of this technology cannot take place. Patients need to be in control of their own data, and it has been reported that 35 percent of consumers have expressed concern over how confidential their personal health information will be if stored online.

Harry Wang, director of health and mobile products for Parks Associates, expressed, “The connected health industries, device manufacturers, and app developers not only need to ensure they have strong security measures in place, but also that consumers are aware of the steps they are taking to protect their data.”
