Tackling the Other Network Security Vulnerabilities: From Routers to Refrigerators

Whatever the experts conclude at the end of this mess, there are many points of vulnerability for commercial and home networks alike, especially with the proliferation of Internet-connected things inside the premises.

According to Parks Associates, about 48% of broadband households “have privacy concerns about smart home devices.”

That’s troubling enough, but that leaves 52% of households who aren’t concerned about privacy, which is equally troubling. So whichever way you slice it ... network security is a pretty big deal.

The good news is that today’s home systems integrators are tackling home networks with more expertise than ever; however, they’ve only scratched the surface when it comes to security.
