US broadband households interested in value-added monitoring
Some 25 percent of US broadband households find at least one value-added monitoring service very appealing, according to a recent research by Parks Associates. These services include energy, HVAC, or appliance monitoring, and bundling these solutions with home services boosts interest in the latter by up to 50 percent. "The residential security market landscape is changing rapidly, creating a threat to industry incumbents and an opportunity for both new and existing players," said Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls & Energy, Parks Associates.
