US broadband households show interest in smart home devices
One-third of broadband households in the US plan to purchase a smart home device in the next 12 months, according to a recent study by Parks Associates. "Consumer demand for the smart home is growing, but low awareness and limited familiarity create significant challenges for channel partners looking to drive this market from early adopter to early majority," said Parks Associates president Stuart Sikes. Previously released research from Parks Associates finds 27 percent of smart home equipment owners in US broadband households purchased a kit with multiple devices as their first smart home purchase.
