Video streaming gaining momentum in US

While there are many video-streaming offerings available to American consumers, subscription services, in particular, are highly appreciated because of their small recurring payments. This was highlighted in a separate study by Parks Associates, which found the traditional cable TV market share will fall to only 52 percent in 2017.

“The era of huge subscriber gains in the U.S. pay-TV market is over,” said Jim O’Neill, research analyst at Parks Associates.

USA Today Expects TV Deals to Be Abundant During the Holidays

Fewer electronics shoppers, 33% down from 41% last year, said they wanted smart TV features — apps that connect you to streaming movies, social networks, games, news, weather and even exercise, a recent survey by Parks Associates found. But when asked whether they wanted a set that connected to the Internet and sported 3-D, consumer interest rose to 29%, compared with 23% last year.
