Home network problems trouble broadband users

While a majority of broadband homes in the United States now have home network routers, many users experience trouble with their home networks.

Parks Associates says that 78% of U.S. broadband households had a home network router in 2012, up from 54% in 2009, with adoption reaching 95% by 2016.

Ad recall rates 40 percent on smartphones, 33 percent on tablets

New Parks Associates consumer research finds connected devices score high rates of ad recall and response among users, with one-third of U.S. tablet owners and 40% of U.S. smartphone owners recalling an in-app ad shown on their device.

“Over 50% of U.S. broadband households now own at least one Internet-enabled CE device, and tablet ownership grew by 146% in the first three quarters of 2012,” says Heather Way, senior research analyst at Parks Associates.

Consumers rate Netflix higher than Pay TV VOD & broadcast

A new report from Parks Associates says that Low cost and viewing flexibility give Netflix an advantage over pay-TV VOD and premium broadcast TV.

The study, Choosing Content: Viewing Video found Netflix Watch Instantly rates higher in customer satisfaction than premium broadcast TV because of these factors. Netflix also topped pay-TV VOD in terms of cost.

A third of mobile device users play games monthly, number of older players doubles

Almost one-third of people in the U.S. over 13 play mobile games monthly, and the number of gamers in older demographics more than doubled since 2007, according to Parks Associates.
