Mayo, Ralph, Stella and Sloane-Kettering: Will Fashion Meet Function in Wearables?

Events held in the past few weeks speak to the go-go supply side of wearables: Fashion Week in New York City and the Connected Health Summit in San Diego both featured the fashion/wearables connection. On the fashion front, two-thirds of consumers want wearables to go beyond the wrist toward jewelry, according to The Nielsen Connected Life Report. Parks Associates -- the host of Connected Health Summit -- found that 13% of U.S. broadband households plan to purchase a connected health device in the next 12 months. "Nearly 50% of current and future owners of digital wellness devices like pedometers and fitness trackers made or are planning the purchase because they want to live healthier," Parks observes.
