68% Smartphone Owners Stream Music Everyday: Study

Parks Associates has released new data that reaffirms the mobility of music fans in today’s world. Within this group, Parks also found, on average, users are listening to streaming music approximately 45 minutes per day.

The study also found the change in rankings while comparing the popularity of music subscription services between fixed-line broadband and mobile broadband.

Facebook Messenger is America's most popular messaging app

It might have caused anger and dismay among the global Facebook community but according to Parks Associated research, Facebook Messenger is the most popular messaging app in the US based on its number of users.

Over half (55%) of smartphone owners say that they use it, and 45% say that they use Skype, making it the second most popular messaging app.

Apps for breakfast

Likewise, the popularity of shopping apps over breakfast is less than surprising considering Parks Associates' latest report. It found that 25 % of US smartphone owners defer to their devices for retail guidance, launching apps when in physical stores to help make consumer electronics purchasing decisions.

Consumers keep taking the tablets

Tablet ownership is about to pass the 50 % mark in the US, and love of the devices shows no sign of abating.
