The future of all housing is connected.

Consumers increasingly expect their homes to have smart solutions that are convenient, green, and secure and built upon a reliable and high-performing home network. Property technology, including bulk broadband, smart platforms and connected devices, is an emerging market with huge opportunities in multi-dwelling units (MDUs), where consumers’ tech demands are high and the market is still emerging. According to Parks Associates research, 96% of smart home device deployments in multi-dwelling units were made fewer than five years ago.

As President and CEO, Rush guides the overall strategy and direction of RealtyCom Partners. In addition, Rush leads the team that negotiates with telecommunications service providers on behalf of RealtyCom clients to provide the most attractive level of services, compensation and cost savings available. Prior to joining RealtyCom, Rush held senior leadership positions with Time Warner Cable and Comcast where he led successful multifamily sales teams in Texas, California and North Carolina. Rush also ran all sales channels for Logic/WestStar, a triple play FTTH provider in the Cayman Islands just prior to joining RealtyCom. Prior to his career in telecommunications, Rush managed an active construction lending portfolio for Wells Fargo Bank. Rush holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas A&M University.


Duncan Cannon Duncan Cannon, Director of Building Technology, Cortland

Duncan brings 12 years of AEC experience in healthcare, institutional, corporate, and multi-family residential working with owners, engineers, and contractors to foster innovative ideas from schematics to realization. He also brings 7 years of IT network consulting including hardware, software and network infrastructure installation, and service. At his 5 years with Cortland he focuses on building technology, innovation, low voltage design, and community connectivity. Duncan has a foundation of creative problem solving, communication, and attention to detail. He holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia.

Kristen Hanich heads Parks Associates' consumer electronics and mobility research, with expertise in other verticals including connected cars, mobile networking, healthcare, wellness, and independent living. She leads a mix of custom and syndicated research projects throughout the year, with a focus on major players and emerging trends. Kristen specializes in bridging the gap between data-driven and narrative approaches to understanding the consumer markets via a mix of qualitative and quantitative research approaches.

Kristen has dual master's degrees in applied anthropology and public health from the Universities of North Texas in Denton and Fort Worth. She earned her BSc in health at the University of Texas at San Antonio and has a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems.

As the Vice President of New Business Development for Cox Communications, Guillermo Rivas manages the teams responsible for building strategic relationships with developers, builders and owners of apartments, condominiums or single-family projects. In this role, he helps develop programs for the builder community to maximize the return of their investment through Cox’s advanced fiber to the home network, Pre-enabled Wi-Fi feature Quick Connect, Managed Wi-Fi and IoT network solutions that improve the Resident experience.

Prior to joining Cox, Guillermo has held various leadership positions with Time Warner Cable and Comcast Communications. Guillermo has over 25 years of Marketing, Operations, New Product Development and Sales experience in the Telecommunications industry.
