This webcast uncovers the real value of data for connected IoT solutions and how that data can be used throughout a product’s lifecycle.

Nearly 50% of U.S. broadband households will buy a smart home product in the 12 months to the end of 2016. In addition, over two-thirds already have at least one Internet-connected entertainment device.

These products constantly generate data and create a wealth of revenue opportunities that extend beyond predictive analytics to create new monetization and business models. Data also provides deep insight into a product throughout its lifecycle, from development to field testing that can reveal aspects of a solution that are working, what needs improvement, and how the product interacts with the cloud, mobile apps, and other devices in the connected home and IoT.

Parks Associates consumer research finds nearly 50% of consumers are concerned about vendors acquiring these kinds of product data, but the firm maintains that vendors can reduce these concerns by demonstrating the new and innovative ways data can be used to enhance the experience and deepen consumer engagement:

  • Ensuring proper support and maintenance of products
  • Offering complementary products and services
  • Offering valuable analytics, such as electricity usage by certain appliances, and recommendations or automation to achieve operational efficiency

In this webcast, speakers examine the high-value data created by smart home and connected devices, including best practices to ensure a company gets the most out of usage data and strategies to use data in enhancing the consumer experience and allaying concerns. Speakers focus on the long-term and cumulative advantages created by connected products, and discuss emerging strategies to use real-time analytics and feedback mechanisms to create the best consumer experience.
