3DTV owners like 3D content; challenge is selling more 3DTVs

Networked homes prepare for the sound of music

First iPods, now tablets. The numbers of consumers using their tablets to listen to music--more than 60 percent, according to Dallas-based research firm Parks Associates--is reportedly going to trigger a widespread increase in the embedded network technologies in home audio products.

Consumers Prefer Connected TV Over 3D

According to new consumer research from Parks Associates, 20% of all U.S. households with broadband intend to purchase a new flat-panel television by the end of the year.

More U.S. consumers plan to buy smart TVs, Parks says

Parks Associates reports that more than 10% of American broadband-connected households plan to buy a smart television set in the last six months of this year, compared with 6% of such households in the first half. The market research firm also found that 19% of U.S. broadband households intend to purchase a tablet computer before the end of the year, with more than 40% of those prospective buyers expressing a preference for the iPad.

Wireless Home Healthcare to be $4 Billion Industry by 2013

A new report predicts the U.S. market for wireless home-based health care applications will grow from $304 million this year to $4.4 billion in 2013, driven by the health IT provisions in the economic stimulus law. Consumer demand will spur growth for set-top boxes

Global shipments of set-top boxes will surpass 200 million in four years, and service providers will rush to fill increasing demand for interactive and other advanced services with state-of-the-art models in order to remain competitive, according to a new report from researcher Parks Associates.
