Smart Energy Summit keynotes to present consumer engagement strategies to utilities, service providers, and retailers for energy management solutions

Verizon, Motorola, San Diego Gas and Electric, and Best Buy to keynote executive conference

International research firm Parks Associates today announced Best Buy, Motorola Mobility, San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), and Verizon as keynotes at Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer. The presentations focus on new business strategies, partnerships, early successes, and new technologies enabling the deployment of smart energy solutions for consumers.

The three-day conference, February 28-March 1 in Austin, Texas, addresses the drivers for deploying new energy management solutions, including smart meters, broadband deployment, real-time control, and IP-based standards; examines the challenges for utilities and others selling residential energy solutions; and features Parks Associates’ primary consumer and industry research on energy management and monitoring.

"Over 80% of U.S. consumers don’t know the price they are paying for electricity, even though 62% strongly believe that saving energy and lowering their utility bills are desirable," said Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls and Energy, Parks Associates. "Getting consumers engaged in energy management and monitoring is an uphill battle. Our keynote speakers include representatives with insights in retail offerings, utility services, connected home products, marketing strategies, and new software solutions that are moving energy solutions to broader adoption."

Sandra Baule, Home Area Network Strategy & Integration Manager, SDG&E, and Ted Reguly, Director – Customer Programs and Assistance, SDG&E, will present the opening keynote at 9:00 a.m., February 29.
