60 million U.S. households will own at least one connected fitness tracker by 2019

Research analyst to lead discussions on mobile technology and the Internet of Things at Bluetooth World and 5G Forum USA

Recently released research from Parks Associates finds that 60 million U.S. households will own at least one connected fitness tracker by the end of 2019. Tejas Mehta, Research Analyst at Parks Associates, will be moderating the panel “Hottest Profiles for Each Technology” at Bluetooth World 2015 on Tuesday, April 14, at 5:20 P.M. at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. The panel will discuss various OS roadmaps and profiles to use for different technology types, such as smartphones, tablets, and wearables, and how these profiles and technologies impact the changing market of Bluetooth and the Internet of Things.

“Standards-based connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth/Bluetooth Smart have been key enablers for wearable mobile device platforms such as fitness trackers and smart watches,” Mehta said. “These new device platforms are leveraging Bluetooth connectivity to open up a range of applications and use cases ranging from fitness and health tracking to proximity marketing and home automation.”

Mehta will also lead the roundtable discussion "5G: M2M and Internet of Things Evolution" at the 5G Forum USA on Wednesday, April 15, at 8:10 A.M. at the Crown Plaza in Palo Alto, CA. The roundtable discussion will focus on the applications and use cases that 5G enables in the M2M/IoT space and the challenges associated with it. Participants will explore the implications of 5G at all levels of the value chain and discuss the perspectives of all stakeholders in the ecosystem.
