Stuart Sikes of Parks Associates provides insight into the integration of IoT and the smart home

Stuart Sikes, President at Parks Associates, will give the keynote address “IoT and Smart Home Paths to Adoption” at the Global Smart Home Summit 2015 on Thursday, May 28, in Shanghai, China. The presentation will feature research from Parks Associates and discuss the Internet of Things, the smart home, and factors driving adoption and integration of smart home device ecosystems, followed by a question-and-answer session with attendees.

The research firm shows that approximately 66% of U.S. broadband households connect a smart TV, gaming console, streaming media device, smart Blu-ray player, or smart DVR to the Internet. In China, the penetration of PC households reached 51% at the end of 2014, according to the firm’s NUMBERS™ service.

“The Internet of Things, adoption of connected devices, and use of online video have had ripple effects, impacting companies throughout the connected home ecosystem,” Sikes said. “The connected entertainment and smart home industries need to ensure that the consumer side of the IoT works seamlessly, securely, and with a flexible design capable of integrating future innovations in order to facilitate and promote consumer adoption.
